Can You Schedule Posts On Bluesky?
Unlike 𝕏/Twitter, Bluesky does not have a built-in feature for scheduling posts.
The good news is that you can still schedule Bluesky posts with a third-party tool. We will look at how to do that.
How To Schedule Posts on Bluesky?
To schedule Bluesky posts, we will use Hypefury.
1. Creating a Bluesky app password
Using app passwords is the default way for Bluesky to allow third-party tools access to your Bluesky account.
Here is how you can create an app password:
1. Head over to the settings page
2. Click on ‘Privacy and security’
3. Choose ‘App passwords’
4. Click on ‘Add App Password’ to create a new app password.
5. You should provide a name for the app password and you will have an option to check whether to give it access to DMs or not.
Your app password will be created and on the next page, you can copy it.
2. Connecting your Bluesky account on Hypefury
So the first step is to log in to Hypefury. Or you can create one if you don’t have an account.

From there you will see all supported social media platforms including Bluesky.
Head over to Bluesky and click “Connect account”.
This will open a Bluesky page where you can sign in with your username and app password.
Use your username and the app password that we created in the previous step.
Now will have successfully connected your Bluesky account with Hypefury and you can start scheduling your Bluesky posts!
3. Scheduling Bluesky posts in Hypefury
To schedule Bluesky posts, head over to the composer.
On the top, you will see a collection of all your connected social media platforms. Choose Bluesky to create a post for Bluesky.
You can write your post in the composer. You can add emojis, GIFs, and upload your media. You can also add a new post to create a threaded post.
Once you’re done, you can either choose to schedule on the next free slot. Or you can choose any custom time that you want.
Once your post is scheduled, you can see it in the queue.
Before it’s posted, you can make any edits that you want. Including changing the schedule time.
Why is it Important to Schedule Bluesky Posts?
While posting on the fly feels good, it’s not consistent most of the time. Some days, you will forget; some days, you will post at different times; and some days, you will have nothing to post altogether.
Scheduling your posts helps avoid all this.
When you schedule your posts, you will be consistent in posting and on your posting times. This helps your audience because they will learn to expect your posts daily at a certain hour.
Another major advantage is that you can choose a certain day, like Saturday, to create all your content and schedule it throughout the week. This way, during the week, you don’t have to stress about what to post.
