What is a LinkedIn Company Page?
A LinkedIn company page is a type of LinkedIn page that explicitly represents a company or an organization on LinkedIn. It’s separate from the founder and its employees, and it serves as a digital presence for the business. A company page allows one to share the latest news, updates, events, and job openings.
A company page is more powerful than an individual page for businesses in the sense that it has more customizable sections, such as Home, About, Products, Posts, Jobs, and People. All these sections allow businesses to express themselves more than individual pages can.
Types of LinkedIn Pages
There are three main types of LinkedIn Business pages. You can create a company page, a showcase page, and an educational institution page.
1. A company page is designed for businesses and organizations. It’s a chance for a business to brand itself, highlight products and services, share business updates, and share employment opportunities.
2. An educational institution page is a page for universities and schools. It’s a place for institutions to showcase what makes them unique to potential students.
A university or school page also showcases alumni when the page is associated with the student’s Education section.
3. A showcase page is created as a subpage of an existing page that showcases a brand within a company or business unit. People use this page to showcase something that’s still related to their organization but is big enough to stand on its own. For example, if your company has a new brand, you can use a showcase page.
Keep in mind that you need to have an existing company or an educational institution to create a showcase page.
