Bluesky has 13 Million users as of November 2024
Bluesky’s users have been increasing since the platform ended its one-year invite-only beta back in February 2024.
In February 2024, Bluesky crossed 5 million users. As of November, the app has 13 million users. 8 million users came in 2024 alone.

Since Elon Musk started supporting Donald Trump, many people have been leaving 𝕏/Twitter and joined Bluesky.
Also, Bluesky saw a surge of new users when 𝕏/Twitter was banned in Brazil

The most followed account on Bluesky is Bluesky
It comes as no surprise that the most followed account on Bluesky is Bluesky itself with 8+ million followers.
This is partly because every new account created automatically follows the Bluesky account.
Also, Bluesky’s account is the only account that has more than a million followers.
Other accounts with the highest number of followers are Poptime with 396K followers and New York Times with 320K followers
50th percentile of all Bluesky users have no more than 1 follower
Since Bluesky is fairly new, many people don’t have followers yet. 50% of all Bluesky users have only 1 follower.
Only influencers who bring their followers from other platforms have a decent amount of following.
Only 0.3% of Bluesky users have crossed 1000 followers and only 0.01% have crossed 10K followers.

Like its competitor, 𝕏/Twitter, Bluesky has more male users than female users and a large gender gap.
Male users make up 63.7% while female users only make up 36.2%.
This is similar to 𝕏/Twitter where male users make up 60.9% percent while female users make up 39.1%
The age between 18-24 make up the largest number of visits to Bluesky
The age gap between 18-24 makes up 42% of Bluesky’s traffic followed by 25 – 34 who make up 27%.
Combined, these two age groups comprise 69% of the web traffic.
