Dominating the social media game is all about sharing your posts effectively. On Twitter, the best way to do that is to schedule your tweets. Having your followers hooked to a steady drip of great content is how you build your reputation as an authority.
If you go hours-on-end without a tweet or scramble for ideas every time you need to share content, you’ve got zero chance of competing with users that have mastered the influence game. Today we’re changing that; you’ll find out the simple way you can schedule your tweets for maximum engagement.
The fastest way to start scheduling tweets is to use the Twitter web app or TweetDeck, a dashboard app meant to make Twitter easier for you. If you want to get ahead on your Twitter game though, Hypefury might be more your speed. We’ll cover all your options below so you can start scheduling those tweets.
How to schedule tweets on the Twitter web app
The Twitter web app is the easiest way to start scheduling tweets even if you’ve got zero experience with it. It’s pretty cool because you get to create your content right from your account. That being said, Twitter doesn’t think highly of scheduled content so there are some drawbacks to using the web app. Before we get into all of that though, here’s how you can schedule your tweets:
To schedule a tweet in the web app, click on “Tweet” in your control panel to the left of the screen. A pop like the one in the picture below will pop up allowing you to write out your tweet(s). You can also just start typing your tweet in the text box at the top of the screen.
The pop-up has buttons that allow you to add media, gifs, polls, or emojis. Unfortunately, as of now, you can’t schedule tweets with polls in them. The fifth button (calendar icon) at the bottom of the pop-up is the one you use to schedule tweets. If you click on it a new section for scheduling the time and date for your tweet will open.
Once you’ve set the time and date for your tweets you click “confirm” to return to the next screen. If you’re happy with your tweet, you can click on “schedule” to finish the process. You can repeat the process and schedule your week’s, month’s, or year’s content.
To delete or edit your scheduled tweets open the tweet pop up and click on “unsent tweets”.
How to schedule tweets with TweetDeck
According to Twitter, TweetDeck will get you tweeting like a pro. The dashboard app is far better than the standard Twitter web app. It’s pretty awesome for tweeting, engaging, and staying on top of all things Twitter. And, you also get the added benefit of being able to schedule tweets. Below is everything you need to know about using it to schedule your tweets.
Once you’ve logged into TweetDeck, you can schedule your tweets by clicking “Tweet” at the top of your control panel. A screen like the one below will open up.
You can write your tweets in the text box above and add any media you’d attached to the tweet. When you’re happy with the tweet, click on “schedule tweet” to select when you want your tweet posted.
TweetDeck’s scheduler is pretty simple to use. Once scheduled, your tweets will go live, even if you’re not on Twitter at the time.
You can review your scheduled tweets by looking at the “scheduled tweets” column of your dashboard. TweetDeck automatically adds the column when you schedule a tweet. You can also add the column manually by selecting “add column” in your control panel. From the “scheduled” column you can edit or delete your tweets. And that’s it, scheduling tweets is that simple.
Like any free product, the Twitter web app and TweetDeck leave a lot to be desired. Besides adding to your Twitter screen time, they are both the web and dashboard apps are clunky and they don’t support mass schedule. They really won’t do much for your engagement beyond posting your Tweets.
Twitter would prefer if you spent all your time on the platform and shared your content on the fly. That’s why they haven’t gone out of their way to make scheduling your tweets a much better experience in general. That doesn’t mean you’ve got to settle for that though, below is the best Twitter manager you’ll ever lay your eyes on.
