Start tweet

To start your poll, click on “Tweet” like you would to write every other tweet.

You can create Twitter polls from your mobile device or on Twitter’s web app.

Add your poll question where it says “Ask a question…”

Add response options

Twitter polls have a maximum of four response options and a minimum of two options. You get 25 characters for each response.

Set the poll duration

Your poll can run for as little as 5 mins or as long as 7 days.

Choose who can reply

You have the option of choosing who can reply to your poll: everyone, people you follow, or only people you mention. These different settings allow you to make sure you’re sending out your poll to the right people!

For instance, if you have a question specifically aimed at people you know and who know you, you can choose “people you follow” so that you’ll only get answers you’re interested in.

Once you’ve set everything up, the last thing you have to do is hit the tweet button and send your Twitter poll out into the Twitterverse.
